31206033669?profile=RESIZE_400xOMG!  Left liberals screamed, “No More Nazi Candidates.” So, who did they pick? Troy Jackson, the Democrat who married a family member! Isn’t that called incest?

Maine Democrats just handed Republicans another gift. After their primary winner Graham Platner collapsed under a rape allegation and quit the race, party leaders scrambled and settled on former state senator Troy Jackson as their new U.S. Senate nominee against Susan Collins.

Within days, the internet discovered that Jackson fathered two children with his second cousin.

They have two adult sons together. WHAT? Conservatives piled on immediately. “Can’t wait for Democrats to defend cousin marriage!” wrote Rep. Nancy Mace. Sean Spicer declared, “If you thought Platner was a freak—meet Troy Jackson.” Others joked that Democrats keep selecting candidates who match the very stereotypes they claim to reject about rural people.

Jackson’s campaign responded by accusing Collins of distraction and calling the personal attacks “shameful and desperate.” The statement did not deny the family relationship. It simply tried to change the subject to Collins’s voting record.

You've got to read this!

Platner won the primary. (The one with the Nazi tattoos)  Then rape allegation surfaced, and he exited. Ops!

Party officials convened a nominating convention and elevated Jackson, a veteran of state politics who had already lost a gubernatorial primary earlier in the cycle. Almost instantly, genealogical records produced a new controversy. Social media treated it as confirmation of a pattern: Democrats in competitive races keep arriving at candidates who force the party into defensive mode over character or personal history rather than policy.

This matters because the Senate map is tight. Republicans hold a 53-47 majority and intend to keep it. Maine is one of the few places Democrats believed they might flip a seat. Instead, they are now defending a nominee whose family arrangements have become national punchlines. The same party that lectures the country about norms and standards finds itself explaining why its latest standard-bearer lives with and raised children by the family member he married!

Platner’s sudden exit already signaled weakness. Jackson’s revelation compounds it. Can Maine Democrats find a clean, credible alternative who could focus the race on Collins’s long tenure and her relationship with the Trump administration?

They’re sinking fast, and the rats are drowning!

Jackson may yet persuade enough Mainers that the personal story is irrelevant! That marrying a family member and having children from an incestuous inbreeding family is normal! YIKES!

Democrats cannot seem to produce a straightforward, unencumbered candidate for a high-stakes Senate race. In politics, that reputation is hard to shake once it takes hold.

  • Did the meaning of family also disappear? Along with the "no can do," restraints.

    • Destroy the family and the nation will be destroyed. That is their evil plot.

    • That is the foundation of everything, so yes.
