History records the miracle: with French assistance, victory came after seven long years on September 3, 1783. In the span of just 156 years, that same young nation emerged from World War II as the globe’s superpower. “In God We Trust,” now inscribed on our coins and currency since the Civil War era, stands as a continuing testimony to this founding dependence.
No chapter and verse from Scripture appears in the Declaration, yet its authors clearly drew strength from biblical truth. They knew the words of Jesus: “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” What they attempted seemed humanly impossible. Their reliance on divine Providence turned what seemed impossible into the birth of a new nation.
Today, as we stand on the far side of that 250-year journey, we face our own challenges. The same God who watched over the Founders watches over us. This is one nation under God—not because of our perfection, but because we were founded on the recognition that rights, justice, and protection come from Him alone.
Let us recover that humble dependence. Let us pray, as the signers did, for the protection of divine Providence over our land. With God, the impossible remains possible, and the unity we seek finds its true source.

Plus each state Preamble acknowledges God and asks/prays for Divine Providence protection. All 50. Hawaii. as the last state, expresses gratitude for "Divine Guidance." So, from the beginning of statehood, to the final stage of statehood, each state did their version of this.
