  • They were the lucky ones....they escaped, yet they still talk about it and thaught their child who was born in freedom!
My family ended up stuck behind because their choice was to take me with and risk I might die as so many small children did because the parents had to keep them quiet to keep from being heard by the soldiers, holding their mouths keeping them from making a sound they unknowingly sofficiated the child, or leave me behind with family with hopes of getting us all out eventually. We stayed and lived the horror for 13 years! My family story is the story of hundreds of thousands who were left behind, stayed because the choices were impossible bare.
Watch a movie An American Rapsody, it's old, but should be available somewhere! Also read the book.... The Bridge at Andau by James Mitchner, he was there and put their stories into a book. These things happening in our, and our parents lifetimes.....
