Fetal kidney and retinal cells are used. The original cells were from 2 aborted fetuses in the 60's, continuted to be grown, and used for jxx's today. Fact, most cells die after multiplication a certain number of times, known as the Hayflick limit. The CoVid JJ/Jansen jxx, came from the late 1990;s retinal cell line. Another was from kidney cells. Pharma keeps the originall cells and freezes them, then thaws them and uses them after giving additional nutrients to the cells, and they begin replicating exponentially.
