American election infrastructure is worthless at every level.
The people in this Washington DC room communicated that message to the current administration.
They showed that:
1) The voter rolls aren't fit for purpose because they can't tell us reliably how many qualified voters there are, who they are, or whether they voted. Even if the rolls are 95% accurate, that isn't good enough for an election.
2) The machines have serious security vulnerabilities.
3) Election Day tracking displays strong evidence of manipulation.
4) All of this can be solved with same day voting, no mail-in ballots or registrations, new voter roll databases made in-person and with ID, no voting without ID, hand counted paper ballots, and all third party vendors removed from the system. There will be opposition to these solutions, but there is time to do all of it before the elections. Any arguments that they are too complicated, expensive, or time consuming, are false. They would use existing workflows, the paper ballots that are already printed every year, and the same legions of poll workers we already use.
This will only be true for about 30-45 days. After that, it likely would be impractical to attempt a solution, like trying to use a freeway exit 100 yards ahead at 100 miles per hour.
The only obstacle to actual implementation is people who want to leave the corruption where it is, or alter it in only cosmetic ways. Those people, as far as I am concerned, are actively subverting our government, or have already done so and intend to protect their filthy lucre.
Good people who are aware of the obstructionist traitors sometimes think a compromise is possible. It isn't. Compromising with treason is like trading an arm to a cannibal in exchange for keeping your head.
