    I can remember when the food stamp program first started; recipients were only allowed to buy certain healthy, nourishing foods and milk - - none of the fancy stuff that is currently permitted.  Recipients who were able-bodied, were also forced to "actively" seek employment, which is no longer the case!

      SEEMS LIKE A PROBLEM OF NO ROAMING INSPECTORS  TO ASSURE RULES ARE FOLLOWED IS THE PROBLEM IN OTHER AREAS OF GOVERNMENT AS WELL.

      You know, I think back and starting to think some of the communist rules were good! 
      if you didn't have a job for over three months.......you went to prison where they had work for you!  We should try this!

    I have been behind customers getting checked out using food stamps and they had a lot more groceries than I did. Some had their husbands with them and I was wondering why they were not working.

    Easy answer. Stop government handouts. No food stamps, no FEMA, no entitlements, etc. Have people take responsibility again.

    As it should be! They are GIVEN a money, getting a handout because they aren't providing, so they should make an effort to make good healthy food for he family.....not junk while they're sitting on their lazy fat asses!

    WELL, FOOD STAMPS SHOULD PROMOTE HEALTHFUL SURVIVAL ! ! !  AND ACTUALLY RECIPIENTS OF SUCH BENEFIT SHOULD BE MADE TO SIGN A STATEMENT THAT INDICATES THEY SHALL COMPLY WITH THAT GOAL  OR FORFEIT TOSE BENEFITS.
