A temporary speaker has very limited authority, isn't a real speaker. This won't be resolved in time to vote on another continuation bill in November. So, who won? Rino McCarthy? Definitely not. He won't be able to work with the marxists on the other side of the aisle anymore. We the people won because we have honest and patriotic people like Gaetz and President Trump, who look out for our best interests.

This is crap... the House can have McCarthy appoint a temporary speaker when necessary to continue the functions of the House. What happens when the speaker is sick, injured, or otherwise unable to function?
The Constitution is silent on appointing a temporary speaker... it then FALLS TO THE HOUSE RULES... and the rules can be made to allow a temporary speaker if necessary.
Article 1, Section 2 is the only mention of the Speaker in the Constitution and it states...
“The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.” Quote the US Constitution.
The house rules determine how the Speaker is selected and if they can appoint a temporary speaker. THERE IS NO CRISIS... it is all BS.
Let the Speaker appoint a temporary speaker... all the hype and pontification over the speaker being removed as paralyzing the House is BS. Let the House choose a temporary speaker. Amend the House Rules if necessary.

The speaker pro-tem is currently in charge... let him open a session to change the rule IF NECESSARY... it may not be. If unnecessary simply nominate and vote on a temp speaker... limit his term to expire, when a new speaker is elected.
The rules of the House are subject only to the House. A simple majority is required to change the rules. The GOP is the Majority. This is not rocket science and if they attempt to make it rocket science it is kabuki theater.
If it was that simple, rino McCarthy wouldn't have been speaker in the first place. Nobody was running against him when the GOP elected him speaker. The GOP is indeed the Majority and they lost their speaker. What does that tell you about how easy all this is? And about the GOP overall?
Unless the Speaker happens to be a psychotic shriveled old communist from 'Frisco (anyone come to mind?), no one in their right senses would touch the Speakers role with a ten foot pole (and she walked away by timely choice). National conditions have been carefully managed by neglect to alarmingly dangerous levels. Still, we must hope that some braveheart will dare to walk into the darkened sawmill with the machinery running in full operation, musn't we?
