Any increase in social security benefits will pale in reality... we are witnessing HYPER INFLATION ... now. The real inflation rate is in excess of 50% annually and is climbing. After the election we will see massive price increases that put most of us in the poor house... many will be forced out of their homes and onto the streets. The Disposable income needed to drive our economy will disappear and interest rates will make credit purchases impossible.
We are in serious trouble and it is by design... not by accident.

All social security payments and public pensions should be abolished. We the people take responsibilty for our own security, pension, etc. The state should keep out of it completly. Alas, there are way too many people in the US and also here on this site who live off government handouts happily. This is exactly why taxes in the US are so exorbitantly high.
