    • If Congress can't pass legislation or Impeach dangerous and reckless office holders... what good is a Gridlocked Congres?   It becomes a toothless oversight body, conducting hearings and investigations THAT GO NOWHERE. Being the majority Party in both Houses doesn't guarantee anything unless the majority has the votes to override a Presidential legislative veto, or the votes to remove an impeached President or cabinet officer.  Congress's power to govern lies in its ability to pass legislation, to enforce compliance with the law, via impeachment and expulsion, and to fund government using Appropriations Legislation... a budget.

However, legislation including appropriations bills can be vetoed ... when vetoed it takes 67 votes in the US Senate to override the veto.  The power of the Veto is absolute whenever the opposition party will not compromise. Given the recent history of the use of Presidential Executive Orders, a rogue President can force gridlock in Congress with his veto and then rule by EO.  A rogue President can fund the government using his emergency powers, EOs, and the support of willing deep state officials

The President doesn't need a Continuing Resolution to fund government... as the ' essential services of government are perpetually operated by law and can continue without appropriations, using the President's Emergency Powers to operate essential services.  Congress must override the President's EOs/emergency powers using Binding Congressional Resolutions. However, such resolutions require the President's signature to have the force of law... Guess what... He won't sign  Congress is then left with IMPEACHMENT... However, it also takes 67 votes, in the US Senate, to remove a sitting President.

We are being sold a bill of goods... surprise surprise Sargent Carter, we are being lied to... The RED WAVE is not even a pink ripple... However, the RNC promises major reforms if we just send more money... They retort... the Red Wave is coming and voila everything is going to be perfect... My arse, GRIDLOCK IS COMING.  If not, explain how Congress will limit Pres. Biden and his lawless regime from simply ignoring Congress... declaring a national emergency and running the government with EOs and the compliance of the Deep State?

    • The old saying is follow the money. The only problem is I have better use for my money.

  • The idiot will take us to war for political reasons but Congress

    must declare war

  • Oh, by the way... if Biden loses both Houses he has until the next Congress to start a hot war and once we are in a declared war... getting out of it may be very problematic.

In addition, the GOP needs to pick up all 14 Democrat Seats in the US Senate up for election,  AND... hold the line on all their members votes (64 votes) max... they must pick up 3 Democrat Senators' votes to IMPEACH or to override any Presidential Vetos... We are being misled... promised things the next Republican Congress does not have the votes to deliver... Even if they hold all their seats up for election and pick up every Democrat US Senate seat open for election.

Stop using the new math... 64 votes is the greatest possible number of GOP Senators in the next Congress... it takes 67 votes to override a Presidential Veto and 67 votes to convict a President, or any other officer, upon trial for articles of Impeachment. The GOP will not be able to override a President's Veto OR... convict anyone upon trial for articles of impeachment ... not without picking up at least 3 Democrat Senators' Votes.

  • Bomb shelters ain't going to do any good the radiation and the radiation sickness can last for hundreds of years.

    • Exactly...

Good news... It turns out that the radiation poisoning is not as persistant as originally anticipated... Nagasaki and Hiroshima are both functioning and thriving cities and have been for several decades.  One can hardly tell that these two cities were destroyed by nuclear bombs in 1945.

Bad news...Now that it is understood nuclear fallout is not as persistent as first thought, many in the Military see LIMITED NUCLEAR WAR as possible.

However, that is insane as there can be no LIMITED NUCLEAR WAR.... the losers are certainly not going to go down without using ALL OF THEIR NUCLEAR ARSENAL... after all what one sees as limited another may see as excessive... full-scale nuclear conflict.

Besides, being highly risky any US /Russian war would eventually go full nuclear... then what?

    • In the event of a larger war between the U.S. and Russia, which together are believed to hold more than 90% of the world's nuclear stockpile, an estimated 5 billion out of 6.7 billion people worldwide would die, according to the research.Aug 15, 2022

    • I'm not talking about a child's game of you fire one and I fire one. I'm talking about a hundreds to and from. And Putin is just crazy enough. And Biden is senile.

    • Don't make comments about things you know nothing about. Most of the components of Radioactive Fallout from a nuclear explosion are strong radiation emitters, but have a very short half-life and would decay down to relatively safe levels within two to three weeks, not hundreds of years. Some particles might have a much longer half-life, but they are low radiation emitters and you would have to ingest them or be closely in contact with them for a long time for any damage to be done to you. By the way, radiation sickness, depending on the level of exposure, can last several hours to several weeks. Then you are either dead or recovering. The purpose of a "fallout" shelter (not a "bomb" shelter) is to protect you from the heavy radioactivity during the initial stages of fallout (just after the explosion) until it decays down to safe levels in several weeks. Nuclear war is survivable with the right preparations!
