Decades ago I was driving from Vienna into communist Hungary. I waited in line for about 2-3 hours to get to the border, then 3 hours after they took my passport. Finally the soldier brought back my passport and told me to drive no more and no less then 20km/hr. He told me not to change my speed, nor to stop because the soldiers in the towers along the road will shoot if they see anything out of order. It was a very long five minutes.......and I'm sure it was nothing compared to the trip to the airport in Kabul.
