Income taxes should be illegal and the IRS - and Fed abolished. A consumption or fair tax would be so much better, but the rich elites would actually have to pay taxes, so they would never pass it. With a non-essentials consumption tax, if they spend too much and the economy suffers, people would slow down on the spending and they would get less money. Someone Like Trump and the MAGA agenda and they could balance the budget in 10 years. We can solve the Medicare issue as well. Just put a lockbox on it, stop bailing out Medicaid and, remove the cap on paying for it each year. What is it, you currently only pay in to it up to 118,000 or 119,000. Take that ceiling away so that mid and high income earners continue to pay above the previous ceiling limit. It would be in the black in 1 -2 years.
