“We announced that $370 million had been routed from the cannabis tax fund through Elevate Youth to over 500 organizations, many of them not spending the money on substance abuse prevention, as is appropriate.
Today, ironically, Gavin Newsom amplified this message saying that this money is explicitly not allowed to be used for partisan activities. It brings up the question of whether or not his organization knew about it and certainly why they didn't stop it if so.
So we have referred this case to the U.S. Attorney's Office. We will bring accountability for fraud, waste, and abuse in California from CalDOGE”
