A California mayor has been forced to step down this week after launching a truly vile attack on President Donald Trump and his supporters, comparing them to the Ku Klux Klan and saying they are worse than Nazis.
Dr. William Kirby, mayor of the northern California city of Auburn, admitted yesterday to the local city council that some of his posts on social media crossed the line, according to KTXL-TV. These posts included an image of a hooded KKK member with the caption, “Good news for Trump supporters is that most of them already have masks.”
“True,” Kirby commented on the photo.
In another post, Kirby compared Trump and his supporters to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and his followers.
“If Hitler and everyone who supported him was removed from the face of the earth in 1939, the world would be a much better place. The same is more true of Trump and his supporters today,” Kirby wrote.
