California to impose first-ever permanent water restrictions on cities and towns.
The California State Water Resources Control Board (CSWRCB), a body appointed by Gavin Newsom, just enacted a policy that requires urban water suppliers to restrict the water they supply by 40% over the next 15 years.
Any municipal water supplier that is out of compliance will be fined $10,000 for each day they are out of compliance. Just like the Idaho Department of Water Resources ordered a water curtailment without any legislative approval, California is doing the same.
The highest cut is foreseen for the City of Redding, which must reduce its output 21 percent by next year. Unlike previous droughts in which California agencies enacted temporary water use restrictions, this will be permanent.
The state’s policies are a stage four cancer waiting on the bench to be spread to the rest of the nation if Gavin Newsom runs for President. Don’t Idaho my California and don’t California my USA.
