Mayor Lori Lightfoot is considering a momentous change to Chicago police procedure: requiring officers to get a supervisor’s permission before beginning a foot chase.
"No one should die as a result of a foot chase," she said.
The mayor promised to announce details of a new policy "soon."
The issue gained new urgency after an officer chased and fatally shot Adam Toledo. Video of the incident shows the 13-year old dumping what appears to be a firearm a split-second before he turns and raises his hands. Toledo apparently was handed the gun by Ruben Roman, who allegedly had just used it to fire eight rounds at a passing vehicle. Apparently, no one was hit.
Personal injury lawyer Arturo Jauregui called a news conference to urge reform.

No one should have to die period but putting handcuffs on you police officers is the wrong avenue to take. Why can’t people see the need for police officers? If a police officer shuts an “innocent” person, he must be held accountable. If you break the law, and you are found guilty you pay the price of punishment, jail, or prison time. If you aim a gun at a police officer you need to be shot, period! It is not a game! It is starting to show, or some are wanting to show and make others believe that people, Blacks in general do no harm!! What a line of crap! I hear it all of the time; “he was a good boy, he would not hurt anybody” she was an honor roll student, she would not pull a knife on anybody”. Please then tell me, why did they???? I am not talking about the innocent bystanders who get harmed or killed, my heart goes out to them. But people are people and people crack!

Actually we sort of did start it by taking slaves if you look at it through a histocical perspective. But regardless of how it happened, it needs to stop, so we can move forward and not backwards.
Sorry it wasn't the USA that started taking slaves. It was the people who came over fro other countries - before the USA was even a country. Maybe you better learn history. Or amybe you think the 1619 Project is history. If that is so - please leave this country.
Slavery begins before there was the United State of America and the word slave means servant anyway, God wants to serve him not other men or women remember God is a jealous God he wants us to himself, not Idolatry.
