The City of Chicago says bus companies that dropped off migrants from Texas starting back in 2022 owe the city more than $440,000
Democrats aren’t upset the illegals were dropped off in Chicago, that’s not what they’re siding for. Democrats are suing because the illegals weren’t dropped off in the designated areas
In 2023, Chicago updated rules requiring intercity bus companies to:
- Obtain prior authorization from the Chicago Department of Transportation commissioner before unloading passengers
- Drop migrants only at designated locations, not random spots or suburbsBus companies often didn’t use the designated areas and that’s why Democrats want money from them for….
“The city sued 95 bus companies claiming they failed to comply with Chicago's municipal ordinance. It states a bus company must have authorization from the CDOT commissioner to unload passengers”
I looked into this and here are the details
- The city filed nearly 1,000 complaints against about 27 bus companies
- So far 52 complaints have already been settled, with 43 default judgments
- Fines per violation typically range from $2,000 to $10,000The city is so broke this is what they’re focusing on to get money….
