As President Trump paid tribute to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg today on the Supreme Court steps, he was met with boos and chants of “vote him out.” Ironically, Justice Ginsburg was known for her ability and strong belief in the importance of working across party lines. She was known to have a strong bond and friendship with conservative Justice Antonin Scalia.

Yet, her followers and liberal admirers acted in a manner opposite to her character whilst memorializing her. They must be taking yet another page out of the Clinton playbook; ‘do as I say, not as I do.’ Mrs. Clinton gave a bizarre statement that the Supreme Court nominee is being pushed through for a health care agenda. “Ultimately this fight, it seems to me, is about health care…Health care is literally before the court.”

“Trump and the Republicans led by Mitch McConnell have been trying to get rid of health care for years ever since President Obama passed the Affordable Care Act” said Clinton. “Let’s be sure we understand what the Republicans are doing is rushing an appointment to the court to repeal the Affordable Care Act and strip away health care for many millions of Americans…The Democrats need to make that case” she added.

It’s manipulative for Democrats to continuously use rhetoric suggesting Republicans are “pushing through” and “fighting” in regard to a Justice pick for the Supreme Court vacancy. Ginsburg succumbed to a long battle with cancer and her death occurred during Trump’s presidency. Therefore, the President has the right to nominate a Justice of his choosing and then go through the confirmation process in the Senate.

Clinton is calculating; she is using the hot-button issue of health care pretending that’s the motivation behind a Supreme Court Justice “fight” to enrage her base. In reality, any acting President would take advantage of the opportunity to nominate a Supreme Court Justice in the event of an absence.
