Let’s start with the Coinage Act of 1792, signed into law by George Washington: “…And be it further enacted, That if any of the officers or persons employed in the mint shall embezzle any of the metals which shall at any time be committed to their charge, or shall make use of any unlawful ways or means for debasing the coins which shall be made at the said mint, every such officer or person who shall commit any or either of the said offenses shall suffer death.” I’ll call that law background, as I discuss the supposed Constitutional crisis the country is now facing, according to various braying politician and media jackasses. We have financial crimes—ranging from 150-year olds paid Social Security money…all the way up to… Money going out from Treasury to companies whose federal contracts are expired and have never been reauthorized. Money going out to unknown entities or persons. Hundreds of billions of dollars. Money going out from USAID to news outlets and think tanks and NGOs doing Leftist propaganda—instead of for the purposes authorized by Congress. Monies gong out of Treasury with no personal accountability at the Agency. Payments never scrutinized, never explained in document-fields where comments are supposed to be made. Payments never stopped. These long-term and ongoing events are all felonies, and the Dept. of Treasury and other agencies are crime scenes. I expect and urge the new US AG, Pam Bondi, to weigh in and prosecute the criminals working at Treasury and other federal agencies. For serious crimes. Debasing the currency. Luckily for these rank felons, the death penalty in the 1792 law was eventually repealed. The idea that a court judge would stop Trump and DOGE from pursuing the investigation of illicitly flowing federal money is absurd. That would be exactly like a court ruling the police can’t look into crimes and the DA can’t bring criminals to trial. The charge of Constitutional crisis is pure fluff and propaganda. Of course, some two-bit federal judge might do anything. He might indeed rule that the President has no right to investigate financial felonies in agencies within the Executive Branch, which is under the President’s control. In that case, we could have a Constitutional crisis. Created by a judge, not by Trump. A court and the US AG could face off, with the AG saying she’s going to prosecute agency employees, come hell or high water, and the judge saying this is illegal. The Judiciary vs. the Executive Branch. I would expect a higher court to decide in favor of the President and the AG. Meanwhile, there are a number of other separate moves Trump has made against agencies under his control as President: Offers to buy out all federal agency employees. The reassignment of employees. Firing them. Threats to downsize and eliminate agencies. Cutting off or reducing funds to agencies. These moves face legal challenges. Civil service-employee protections embedded in laws. The fact that Congress approved and designated monies for federal agencies, monies the President can’t withdraw. Trump’s lawyers will argue that since these agencies are organized under him, he can enact wide-sweeping changes in them at his discretion. None of this wrangling creates a Constitutional crisis. Unless Trump decides to override court decisions which go against him. Finally, Trump’s attorneys could claim that the size and power of federal agencies violates the basic intent of the Constitution, which was created for the express purpose of limiting the power of central government. —Back to the financial crimes. Musk is claiming that presently, he and his DOGE team are working WITH employees at the Treasury to discover these crimes, and DOGE isn’t violating the recent court order to stay away from sensitive Treasury data. But again, what sane judge would forbid the President from investigating crimes within his own agencies? The forces trying to organize against Trump on THAT issue are terrified that the investigations will come to their own doors, and discover their own felonies; or Trump will unearth staggering crimes which arouse and awaken The People to the fact that the whole federal bureaucracy is one gigantic crime scene which should be surrounded by yellow tape and reduced to a miniature of its former self. Which is exactly what SHOULD happen. As I’ve pointed out many times, Trump has a tendency to start moves and then abandon them. The American people have to demand he continues this investigation, with major prosecutions, all the way. No stinting, no retreat, no empty promises. The idea of DOGE was brilliant. It strikes at the heart of what the federal government has been doing for a long, long time. Debasing the currency. DOGE, if executed well, goes for the throat of the MONEY. -- Jon Rappoport Further reading for yearly subscribers: “Suppose we assume everything Trump is doing is a total fake” (here)
