In his place I never would have either! DeSantis needs to, must stay as governor and finish the job in Florida. I used to think the combination of the two would be good, then DeSantis for president for 8, 12 years in the WH......sounds great......but it's time politicians stay and finish what they are elected to do and stop jumping around opportunities! Finish a commitment! We have others just as good, like Lake, she would make a fantastic VP......and I bet Trump IS considering her. Not because she is a woman, but because she would serve well!
