In 2008 Shady Shontel pleaded guilty to theft after using her job at Human Services to pull EBT cards from other people’s accounts and hand them to herself and her roommate.
Shady Shontel stole money meant for poor and disabled people to buy food and heat. Investigators found multiple cases. She was originally looking at felonies.
When they asked her about it this week she did not just say she paid her debt and moved on. She said that conviction actually qualifies her!!!
Now she wants to run the city that writes the checks. Voters can decide if they want that.
