A prosecutor on the team that struck a sweetheart deal with Hunter Biden worked just years ago for a longtime Biden family friend who did business with the embattled first son, raising potential concerns about an investigation that has already been marred by whistleblower allegations of political favoritism.
Derek Hines, a special assistant U.S. attorney on the Hunter Biden case, was special counsel to former FBI director Louis Freeh at Freeh's private consulting firm from August 2013 to February 2015, according to Hines's LinkedIn profile. Freeh has extensive ties to the Biden family. He was recruited by Hunter Biden in 2016 to help a Romanian businessman fight bribery charges in Europe. That same year, Freeh gave $100,000 to a college trust for two of Joe Biden's grandchildren, according to emails from Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop. Freeh said that he looked forward to "future work" with Hunter Biden and that he had discussed "future work options" with then-vice president Biden. Freeh later joined the board of the Beau Biden Foundation, named for the president's late son.
Hines now serves as special assistant to U.S. attorney David Weiss, according to court filings in Biden's case. Weiss, the federal prosecutor in Delaware, announced Tuesday that Biden agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax crimes for failure to pay taxes in 2017 and 2018. Biden is also charged with one count of felony gun possession, though he will enter a diversionary program that will likely keep him out of jail. Republicans blasted what they called a sweetheart deal handed down by the Biden Justice Department.

This is what happens when all the checks and balances have been removed.
Through the many years of infiltration that has spread over the land. Made so By traitors to America.
Amen to that
FBI...Federal Bureau Of INSURRECTION.
Why are we surprised... The outcome was predictable from the start with the appointment of the lead prosecutor John Durham... a Bush ally and RNC loyalist. I Warned Pres. Trump that the Durham appointment would end up with this mess being buried and justice denied. This entire case is an example of BAD PERSONNEL JUDGMENT by Pres. Trump... Pres. Trump appointed Durham knowing his career was tied to the BUSH DYNASTY and DEEP STATE.
Early warning signs in Durham's handling of the case were ignored... as Durham promised indictments that never materialized. Trump should have fired him early on... when he failed to indict on the carloads of evidence pointing to criminal conduct. All this information does is stir up more questions as to who can be trusted with America's future and the necessary government reforms. Who? Trump remains our best hope ... but he is also flawe... Has he learned who to trust and who not to take advice from? Some of the cases against him and the counsel he has chosen begs the question... really? I am still very concerned about his counsel and his personnel selections.
I saw this comment in the story. "Wouldn't it be a conflict of interest?" Yes, it would be to adults but to the commiecrats it's just business as usual and no one in our crooked goavernment bothers to do anything but talk.
They talk rather than act BECAUSE... leadership either supports or is culpable in the criminal activity... Some see an advantage in a COMPROMISED GOVERNMENT... pragmatic leadership. Others are compromised due to their conduct. Still more are open to coercive counsel and bribery.
A government comprised of representatives who lack honor and a moral compass is easily pursuaded to betray its duty to the people... for a price or a cut, anything becomes possible. We simply have crooks running our government and have no leadership capable of mustering the people to hold our government accountable.
I believe leadership simply refuses to risk their treasure, liberty, or lives in support of the Republic. We no longer have the commitment of leadership or CAPITAL needed to retain our heritage and liberty. The Captains of Industry believe they can cut a better deal with the DEEP STATE than the PUBLIC. Loyalty to the greater good and the common goals of liberty and security has taken a back seat to personal wealth and power.
P/S
If I had a couple of Billion Dollars I'd have this governmetn turned around in 1-2 years... the means are available ... the will to fund the means is obviously being withheld. Freedom is not free and Liberty requires diligent oversight if it is to be maintained. Both require the commitment of our treasure... wealth.
I am reminded... where our treasure is, there also is our heart... Where is the heart of the captains of America's wealth?
