According to the Frisco Police Department, anonymous accounts claiming to be the Frisco Police Department and Collin County officials were launched to spread fake information about the m*rder.
One account pretending to be the police chief, shared a fake reporter to set the record straight against "Far-Right bloggers."
The post falsely claimed that Metcalf sucker-punched Anthony and that Metcalf smashed Anthony's phone.
Frisco Police Chief David A. Shilson says the person who created the fake statement will be investigated and will face third-degree felony charges of impersonation.
