  • Surprise, surprise - - someone said the GOP voted "unanimously" in his favor; will wonders never cease?  Mike Johnson sounds like he might be the "medicine" the house needs.

    • Medicine or poison?  Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference.  Time will tell but having both political parties clapping and embracing the new speaker is a little daunting.

Just in case one is not aware... bipartisan legislation has rarely produced better government.

    • Perhaps! Time will tell.....I trust no one until they prove themselves. The same rule that got McCarthy out still stands, so he better do well for the country.

    • Me to neither

    • The Deep State is working to revoke the ONE MAN challenge rule to call for a VOTE TO VACATE THE CHAIR... they say it must go.  Of course, it must go... as it shuts down the power of the political parties to ignore the people's voice.

Keep the 'one man' ... challenge to call for a vote to vacate... as it only calls for a vote by the full House to vacate or retain a Speaker... It takes a majority vote on the floor to vacate the Speaker's seat.

Why would either party deny a simple majority vote on the floor of Congress to remove the Speaker... something to hide... fear of the people's will?

  • United. Means the deals have been made.

    • When will we ever learn... Johnson is an attorney... he already holds two offices in the government... one as a member of the House, another as an officer of the Judiciary/Court, and now a third as Speaker of the House... The Constitution restricts government officeholders to ONE OFFICE at a time.

Does anyone read the Constitution anymore?

"The Ineligibility Clause (sometimes also called the Emoluments Clause,[1] or the Incompatibility Clause,[2] or the Sinecure Clause[3]) is a provision in Article 1, Section 6, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution[4] that makes each incumbent member of Congress ineligible to hold an office established by the federal government during their tenure in Congress;[5] it also bars officials in the federal government's executive and judicial branches from simultaneously serving in either the U.S. House or Senate. The purpose of the clause is twofold: first, to protect the separation of powers philosophy (upon which the federal frame of government is built); and second, to prevent Congress from conspiring to create offices or increase federal officials' salaries with the expectation that members of Congress would later be appointed to these posts.[6][7]"

  • United?   Oh yeah... and the January 6th political prisoners are being set free...

Johnson's 'Promises' to govern are hardly factual.... the Senate and the President will kill or veto any legislation they don't like.  This politician has started off by promising the impossible, instead of identifying the problems succinctly and letting the people know they must act decisively with Congress to mandate reforms... then provide a brief list of things to be done.

Passing and ratifying Amendments proposed by an Article 5 convention is the only way to solve our problem... return the governmetn to teh people... pass and ratify:

    1.  A Recall and Term LImits Amendment... recall all the sitting government (elected and appointed) subject to new elections and appointments.  Establish, 'one term' of 6 years, with 1/3rd of the government standing for election or appointment every 2 years.

    2. Pass a Balanced Budget Amendment which requires Congress to balance the budget in 6 years and phase out THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANKING SYSTEM,  return the management of our currency and debt to the US Treasury and Congress.

Once we have a government of the People, by the People, and for the People... the rest of our government's problems can be quickly solved.

    • What could go wrong... both political parties CLAPPING at his appointment and joining together in unanimity... yeah, nothing wrong with this picture.
