H.R. 251 Letter to Representatives

Representative/s (Their name/s here),

I am writing as a constituent to respectfully ask that you co-sponsor H.R. 251, the Legal Workforce Act.

Allowing illegal aliens to live and work in this country not only causes wages for legal citizens to compete against. We additionally subsidize them and their "anchor babies and illegal alien children" with cheap housing, free food, free education and unreimbursed medical care they get by filling up emergency rooms around the country with non emergency visits. So their cheap labor really isn't cheap, it is subsidized with our taxes. Maybe now that our Federal government has finally decided to enforce our immigration laws this bill may have a chance of being passed and implemented.

This bill creates a permanent, mandatory, and modern employment verification framework that protects American workers, strengthens lawful hiring, and reduces identity fraud. By requiring consistent use of an electronic employment eligibility verification system nationwide, H.R. 251 replaces the current patchwork approach with a single, clear standard. That consistency benefits employers who want to follow the law and ensures fairness for lawful workers competing in the job market.

The legislation is especially compelling because it does more than enforcement.  It builds in safeguards, strengthens protections against identity theft, provides due process in cases of tentative nonconformity, funds Social Security Administration responsibilities, and explicitly prohibits the creation of a national ID card. It also phases implementation based on employer size, giving small businesses time to comply while still moving the country toward a reliable verification system.

In addition, the bill increases penalties for intentional violations while preserving a good-faith defense for employers who follow the rules. This balances accountability with practicality and encourages compliance instead of punishing honest mistakes. The provisions addressing fraud prevention, misuse of Social Security numbers, and child identity protection are particularly important in today’s environment.

A secure workforce verification system is essential to restoring trust in our immigration and employment laws. H.R. 251 provides a serious, structured solution that supports legal employment, protects American jobs, and strengthens the integrity of federal systems without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

I urge you to co-sponsor and actively support H.R. 251. Thank you for your service and for your attention to this important matter. I would appreciate knowing your position on the bill.

Respectfully,
(Your Name/s Here)

We really need to put pressure on Congress before the mid-terms, anmd pressure on Conservative voters to get them to turn out for thje elections.
If we lose the mid-Terms, we will lose the country.
