The United States has the longest standing Constitution the world has ever seen. And predating the united States Constitution, the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is the world's longest standing and functioning written constitution of any government, ever. At least 160 Constitutions worldwide, have been modeled after ours, for over 2 centuries. Paramount issues were government subservient to the Constitution and separation of powers. France's Declaration of rights of the Man and the Citizen, modeled closely, Virginia's Declaration of Rights (1776) However, France thought Judges should be accountable and held accountable to the People, not the Constitution, as ours dictates.Â
