Now that the war in Ukraine has begun to fizzle out, the cash flow to our political class and their owners has slowed to a trickle. But fortunately the Middle East is always available to get the gravy train back on track.
One of the combatants in this latest war will certainly be in dire straits if we don’t start shoveling tax payer dollars to them immediately. As of yet, which one that will be is still up for debate. At present Israel is the obvious choice, but the mainstream media has not yet shifted into full Palestinian mode. In the interest of diversity and inclusion, the Uni-Party that now controls America will probably decide to support both sides to the last American dollar.
The immediate response to this latest attack by Israel is positively amazing. Apparently the logistics of war doesn’t affect the Israeli armed forces. They don’t need their commanders to meet to assess the situation or to determine any of the details of the attack. They don’t need to give their politicians time to concoct a bullshit story and appoint the necessary cheerleaders. They don’t need time to call up reserves. They don’t need time to move massive amounts of equipment into position. They don’t even need to confer on the plan of attack to be employed. Instant readiness: What a concept. A real shame their intelligence agencies aren’t as well organized and prepared as their military. Or are they?

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Sunday he has ordered the Ford carrier strike group to sail to the Eastern Mediterranean to be ready to assist Israel after the attack by Hamas that has left more than 1,000 dead on both sides. Americans were reported to be among those killed and missing.
The USS Gerald R. Ford, the Navy's newest and most advanced aircraft carrier, and its approximately 5,000 sailors and deck of warplanes will be accompanied by cruisers and destroyers in a show of force that is meant to be ready to respond to anything, from possibly interdicting additional weapons from reaching Hamas and conducting surveillance.
The large deployment, which also includes a host of ships and warplanes, underscores the concern that the United States has in trying to deter the conflict from growing. But the Israeli government formally declared war Sunday and gave the green light for “significant military steps” to retaliate against Hamas.
Preliminary reports indicate that at least four American citizens were killed in the attacks and an additional seven were missing and unaccounted for, according to a U.S. official. The numbers were in flux and could change as a fuller accounting is compiled., according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss initial reports received by the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem.
