A new front in the educational culture wars has broken out, as parents hit out at schools teaching Social Emotional Learning (SEL) which they fear is becoming a Trojan horse for CRT.
Supporters of SEL say that it is an essential tool for the development of young people - National University describes it as 'a methodology that helps students of all ages to better comprehend their emotions, to feel those emotions fully, and demonstrate empathy for others.'
SEL classes are designed to help the youngest children give voice to their feelings and emotions; older children will discuss mental health, sexuality and race.
The concept was popularized following the 1995 publication of Daniel Goleman's book, Emotional Intelligence. Goleman believed there was too much emphasis in schools on intellectual achievement, and not enough attention paid to encouraging qualities such as self-awareness and impulse control, persistence, zeal and self-motivation, empathy and social deftness.
Yet critics are beginning to question the introduction of SEL in schools.
A September 27 meeting of Carroll Independent School District in Southlake, Texas, saw an angry mother, Tara Eddins, called for an end to the program.

The Chineese are ahead of America in education as well as many other Countries. Ifi were a teacher at this time in the U.S. I would hang my head in shame. We pay you to teach our kids Reading (many are heading to college and cannot do so) writing (cursive) not printing, spelling,, how about a little math? History, civics. Proably do not have time for all this stuff. Teaching them how to HATE is much more important. Wonder how they would if everyone stopped paying SCHOOL taxes.
We appear to have reached a point in time where the difference between education and indoctrination is defined by which end of the stick your are on.

Time to wise up and start attending school meetings, or just go into your child's classroom and see what is being taught. If the administration doesn't like it, tough luck. You have every right to be there since you are paying for it through your property taxes. If I had a small child, I would most likely home school or find a good conservative private school. Your child's future depends on it!!!!!
Surely we need something else because thrprough the many generations we did not develope properly. Here we go, th do this all the time, they must have a long list of things to dump on us as we defeat/expose one, the next one is already there! These people are EVIL!
