Now that @JerseyJustinUSA has everyone’s attention…
Justin Murphy is the Republican nominee against Cory Booker.
He’s a Navy veteran, attorney, and former local official from Tabernacle.
Justin Murphy is the Republican nominee against Cory Booker.
He’s a Navy veteran, attorney, and former local official from Tabernacle.
Here’s why he’s worth paying attention to:🧵
Murphy enlisted in the Navy at 17 and served four years aboard the USS Comte De Grasse, including a deployment in the Persian Gulf during the Iran-Iraq War. He was honorably discharged.
His entire campaign is dedicated to the men and women of the military.
He isn’t a career politician. He was elected to the Tabernacle Township Committee in 2000, served as Deputy Mayor, and has been active in South Jersey Republican politics for decades. He’s also a self-employed attorney who has spent years dealing with real estate, contracts, and energy issues.
He knows how small business and local government actually work.
His published Senate Pledge is unusually clear:
• Abolish the IRS and Internal Revenue Code
• Replace it with a flat tax of 10-12%
• Eliminate capital gains, estate, and death taxes

New Jersey is one of the highest-taxed states in the country. This is the kind of reform people here actually want.
Parental rights are a major focus for him. He calls them “the civil rights issue of our time.”
He wants to abolish the federal Department of Education and send that money directly to local school boards and school-choice programs. That would also reduce New Jersey’s heavy reliance on property taxes to fund schools.
On the border he is straightforward: finish the wall, secure the northern border, station the military on the border, support 287(g) agreements, and cut off federal aid to sanctuary cities.
He ties illegal immigration and fentanyl directly to crime and quality-of-life problems in cities. No vague language.
Jersey-specific issues matter to him. He wants to keep the Pinelands protected and the Shore free of offshore wind turbines. He supports expanding nuclear power and domestic energy production so the U.S. is not dependent on foreign sources.
He also backs permanent DOGE-style oversight and a Balanced Budget Amendment.
Booker has been in the Senate since 2013. Murphy is running as a longtime New Jersey conservative who is not trying to climb the national ladder.
Republicans have not won a Senate seat in this state since 1972. He is treating the race like it can actually be contested if people show up.
If you want a different kind of senator from New Jersey, this is the race.
