You have to ask why?
Let me tell you about the Georgia Muslim voter project!
I’ve been digging into the Georgia Muslim Voter Project (GAMVP), and rather than speculate, let’s look at what the organization itself says it is doing.
GAMVP describes itself as a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization working to increase Muslim political and civic participation in Georgia.
Their strategy goes far beyond registering people to vote.
According to GAMVP’s own materials, their work includes:
➡️ Registering and mobilizing Muslim voters
➡️ Text banking, phone banking and door knocking
➡️ Advocacy training
➡️ Candidate training
➡️ Taking community members to the State Capitol and city councils to advocate for policies
➡️ Mosque outreach
➡️ Leadership development
➡️ Youth organizing
➡️ Redistricting education and advocacyThey actually have a section of their work called “Building Power,” which GAMVP describes as building power with Muslims across Georgia.
And they’re developing the next generation early.
Their Youth Ambassador Program accepts ages 16–22 and trains young Muslims in organizing, advocacy and civic engagement. Participants can lead voter initiatives and organizing projects. The 2026 program even offers a $1,000 stipend upon successful completion. That’s right, they’re paying for participation.
Then look at the progression:
Youth development → organizing → voter registration → mosque outreach → advocacy → candidate training → engagement with elected officials and government.
In February, GAMVP and CAIR-Georgia held Muslim Advocacy Day at the Georgia Capitol, where participants received advocacy training and then engaged elected representatives about issues important to their communities.
Now comes October 8.
Just days before early voting, GAMVP is gathering mosque leadership from across Georgia for its Muslim Civic Leadership Summit.
Their announcement specifically says that for many Georgia Muslims, an influential voice concerning whether they participate in the election may be the person standing before them at Jumu’ah Friday prayer.
They say leaders will receive nonpartisan election resources to take back to their communities and information about what mosques legally can and cannot do while maintaining their 501(c)(3) status.
GAMVP says it has already:
Engaged 100,000 people
Registered 3,000+ voters
Connected with 50+ mosquesAnd their stated vision is an active, engaged American Muslim voting bloc.
Georgians should understand how organized political movements operate and then examine the actual policies, legislation and candidates they advocate for.
Don’t take my word for it.
Read their programs. Follow the money. Follow the legislation. Follow the candidates. And hold everyone seeking political power to the same constitutional standard.
