I think we are seeing test runs by China to see if we will protect our sovereign country, sadly we did nothing! I have no doubt who’s side the Biden administration is on. A balloon is the perfect platform to carry drones, disease capsules, chemicals, high-tech cameras with the ability to send information back in real time and also EMP BOMBS (Energy magnetic pulse) It cheap, can run on solar power for ever, can be remotely controlled or detonated, can easily carry heavy loads of surveillance equipment and fly below the magnetic field which satellite can’t do.80,000 ft. is the perfect altitude for a EMP, this balloon was at 80,000 ft!!
BTW, China has had an ongoing high altitude Balloon program for years, we knew about it, we did nothing!

#1. China would NEVER have tried this!
#2. Trump would have given them one hr to turn this balloon around when it was out at sea or he will take it out when it reached U.S. air space.
#3. he would charge China $150,000 for the missile. You can take that to the bank!
