{ foxnews.com } ~ The Senate confirmation hearings for President Trump’s selection for the Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrett, begin Monday...as Republicans who control the Senate work to seat the federal appeals court judge before the presidential election. Trump chose the 48-year-old judge after the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. “I have been nominated to fill Justice Ginsburg’s seat, but no one will ever take her place,” Barrett says in her remarks to the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Associated Press obtained a copy of her statement on Sunday. { theblaze.com } ~ Because of exorbitant taxes and draconian coronavirus restrictions, people and businesses have been moving out of California...The exodus out of California has been happening for years as the cost of living has become too expensive for many. On this week's "Real Time with Bill Maher," the host complained about the mass departure. Jordan Levine, a Senior Economist with the California Association of Realtors, noted that people are mostly moving to nearby states with lower taxes such as Texas, Nevada, and Arizona. In 2018, more than 86,000 people moved from California to Texas, and nearly 70,000 migrated to Arizona. A 2019 University of California, Berkeley poll found that 71% of registered voters who left were leaving California over the high cost of living, while 58% cited high taxes, and 46% said they were departing the Golden State over political culture. California's large-scale egress was punctuated in the middle of 2020 when several big names proclaimed that they were moving out of the state. In May, Elon Musk was frustrated by California's stringent COVID-19 restrictions and declared that Tesla would move its headquarters to Texas or Nevada. Musk decided to build a new Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, that should open in May 2021. Massively popular podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan announced in July that he was moving from California to Texas. Last month, Ben Shapiro announced that The Daily Wire would relocate its headquarters from Los Angeles to Nashville, Tennessee. Two weeks ago, ultra-successful bond fund manager Jeffrey Gundlach suggested that he would leave California over the state's tax increases. Gundlach has an estimated net worth of $2.2 billion, and he manages a hedge fund with assets adding up to $123 billion. On Friday night, Bill Maher wanted to "b**** a little bit" about the mass exodus out of California. He did so during his "Real Time" interview with Rep. scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff (D-Calif.)....

{ freebeacon.com } ~ NBC News featured a pair of "undecided" voters during a network town hall earlier this week who had previously declared their support for Democratic nominee scumbag drumbling lips liar-Joe Biden on the network's sister channel, MSNBC...Lawyer Peter Gonzalez and marketing executive Ismael Llano posed questions to scumbag drumbling lips liar-Biden during a town hall on Monday, when he appeared before what the network described as an "audience of undecided Florida voters." Both Gonzalez and Llano, however, were featured in an MSNBC segment in August to explain why they support scumbag drumbling lips liar-Biden. "If we get four more years of Trump, good luck, and good luck with the future attracting younger voters," Gonzalez said as an MSNBC chyron noted he was "voting for scumbag drumbling lips liar-Biden." Llano was also identified as "voting for scumbag drumbling lips liar-Biden" and offered praise for the former vice president. On Monday, NBC's Lester Holt said that Llano "voted for scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton four years ago but has voted Republican in the past." Gonzalez, whose voting history went unmentioned, asked scumbag drumbling lips liar-Biden to ease his family's concerns that the Democrat is beholden to "the radical left." "Cuban American and Venezuelan voters here in South Florida are being targeted with messages by the Trump campaign claiming that a vote for scumbag drumbling lips liar-Joe Biden is a vote for the radical left and socialism, and even communism," Gonzalez said. Another "undecided" voter featured in NBC's town hall, Mateo Gomez, told MSNBC on Sept. 30 that he was leaning toward voting scumbag drumbling lips liar-Biden over Trump after watching the first debate. President Donald Trump attacked basketball star LeBron James during an extended interview with conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, calling James a ‘hater’ shortly before he was set to suit up for his team’s NBA playoff game. Trump, who remains at the White House following his positive test for COVID-19, tore into the player who has lent his star power to protests of police use of deadly force while also delving into politics and the charged issue of voter suppression. “The NBA has become so political that nobody cares about it anymore,” the president said. “’I don’t even know who’s playing in the finals.” “I don’t know anybody that’s watching the NBA,” he said. “LeBron is a spokesman for the Democratic party and a very nasty spokesman,’ Trump said, tacking on one of his favorite insults: ‘I don’t know him, I never met him.” “Because, again, I’ve done so much for the Black community and people don’t wanna see that and he’s a great basketball player but people don’t wanna see a guy that way. They don’t want to see that. { washingtonexaminer.com } ~ On Friday, House Speaker scumbag/liar-Nancy Pelosi introduced legislation to create what would be called the "Commission on Presidential Capacity to Discharge the Powers and Duties of Office."...The bill, written by one of scumbag/liar-Pelosi's fellow Democrats, Rep. Jamie Raskin, would provide for the implementation of the 25th Amendment to remove a president deemed too incapacitated to carry out his or her responsibilities. scumbag/liar-Pelosi, of course, led the Democratic effort to impeach and remove President Trump 11 months ago. For his part, Raskin has wanted to remove Trump from the get-go. He introduced a 25th Amendment bill in 2017, the first year of Trump's presidency. He also took part in a Democratic effort on Jan. 6, 2017, before Trump was sworn in, to block the certification of votes for Trump in the Electoral College. On Dec. 6, 2017, Raskin joined 57 other House Democrats to vote to impeach Trump on the basis of the president's statements about Colin Kaepernick and the NFL, among other things. Raskin was one of the original impeachers and, of course, enthusiastically supported impeachment when scumbag/liar-Pelosi took it up in 2019. Now, scumbag/liar-Pelosi and Raskin claim their new 25th Amendment bill has nothing, nothing at all, to do with Trump. "This is not about President Trump," scumbag/liar-Pelosi said at a news conference Friday. "He will face the judgment of the voters, but he shows the need for us to create a process for future presidents." scumbag/liar-Pelosi conceded that the bill, if it were to become law, would apply to the president who will be elected next month. That could, of course, be Trump. It could also be Democrat scumbag drumbling lips liar-Joe Biden. But it seems doubtful that scumbag/liar-Pelosi and Raskin, Democrats who have pursued Trump relentlessly, would have taken the time, 24 days before the election, to introduce this bill if they felt absolutely, positively, 100% sure that Trump would not be reelected. So perhaps it would be wise to apply the famous "it's not about the money" aphorism to Friday's news conference: When someone says it's not about Trump — it's about Trump. Indeed, scumbag/liar-Pelosi's 25th Amendment gambit fits into her party's efforts to remove Trump from office. Last December, when the scumbag/liar-speaker was racing to impeach the president by Christmas, she was asked why Democrats were in such a hurry. "One of the biggest criticisms of the process has been the speed at which the House Democrats are moving," a reporter noted. There was no hurry, scumbag/liar-Pelosi replied. "The speed?" she asked. "It's been going on for 22 months, OK? Two and a half years, actually. This was two and a half years ago they initiated the Mueller investigation." With those words, scumbag/liar-Pelosi conceded that the effort to impeach Trump was about far more than a phone call with the president of Ukraine. It was a continuation of the Democrats' long, long campaign to oust the president. Thomas Gallatin On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court began its fall term, and the justices quickly got down to business by issuing a ruling in favor of preserving voting integrity. The High Court sided with the GOP in South Carolina, restoring the state’s voting law that required all absentee ballots to include a witness signature. The ruling overturns a lower court’s decision to wave the Palmetto State’s witness requirement due to COVID-19. Writing for the majority, Justice Brett Kavanaugh argued, “For many years, this Court has repeatedly emphasized that the federal courts ordinarily should not alter state election rules in the period close to an election.”
Unfortunately, the Court’s decision will not apply to ballots that have already been cast or to those mailed within the next two days. Nevertheless, this is a big win for President Donald Trump and Republicans, as it legitimizes their concerns regarding voter fraud. This ruling should help Republicans slow the efforts of Democrats in exploiting the pandemic to dramatically change states’ voting rules in ways that open the door for massive fraud.
In other news, the Court will also hear two other cases — Arizona Republican Party v. Democratic National Committee and Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee — involving challenges to state laws that ban the practice of ballot harvesting. Democrats ridiculously assert that laws banning ballot harvesting act only to suppress minority voting, and thus violate the Voting Rights Act.
Other cases on the SCOTUS docket are of national interest. The justices will hear another scumbag/liar-nObamaCare case over whether states can challenge the law’s minimum coverage provision. There are also three religious liberty cases, including Fulton v. City of Philadelphia, in which the issue is whether states can prohibit working with faith-based organizations that hold traditional views on marriage and sexuality since the state has deemed such views “discriminatory.”
On the other hand, the Court dropped the ball by refusing to hear certain significant cases that demand addressing.
Once again, the justices punted on another Second Amendment case. In this instance, as reported by The Washington Times, “[Nebraska] lawmakers amended criminal law to deny juveniles who are adjudicated of certain crimes the right to possess a firearm until the age of 25. The Supreme Court of Nebraska sided with the state, upholding the law despite critics arguing a juvenile should have the right to a jury trial before a judge denies Second Amendment rights.”
SCOTUS also declined to take up the case of Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who was sued by two homosexual couples for refusing to issue marriage licenses due to her religious convictions. The Sixth Circuit Appellate Court ruled against Davis, who had appealed to SCOTUS. This case directly reflects the impact of the Court’s abysmal Obergefell v. Hodges decision that effectively redefined marriage. Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito once again voiced their criticism of Obergefell on Monday, pointedly noting that Davis’s case was the predictable outcome of a flawed ruling — it effectively forces those with orthodox religious beliefs opposed to the practice of homosexuality to go against their sincerely held faith and consciences. Obergefell failed to provide any room for freedom of conscience or religious commitment and as such violates Americans’ First Amendment rights.
The Court’s docket serves to highlight just how important, impactful, and needed is the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett. Senate Republicans must not falter in ensuring her appointment to the bench. ~The Patriot Post
