Just an ancillary side note to the U.S-Russia prisoner exchange.
According to an original article from NBC, the negotiations for the prisoner swap included an exchange for either LGBTQ+ hero Brittany Griner or U.S. former marine Paul Whelan.
The Russians would swap either U.S. citizen for the return of arms dealer Viktor Bout; however, the White House would have to decide which American they wanted in return. The White House decided there was greater benefit to getting LGBTQ+ hero Brittany Griner returned, and left Paul Whelan in a Russian prison.

Obviously, this context of the NBC report makes the Biden administration look bad.

If this thing....don't know if she is a girl or the guy in her relationship had any balls, had a drop of patriotic blood in her miserable, useless body, if she had any brains would have said, I'm not leaving without the other Americans, I'm going home until we are all going home! But that would take too much dignity.......she has none!

Would something like this have happened if President Trump was in the White House? Absolutely not. Trump would never leave a military man behind. He has the highest regard for the military especially if they were captured by the enemy as Whelan was.
And we are right back to abandoning POW's as is the case in all Wars... There are still thousands missing from all the wars combined for which no president had the balls to get them back.....As much as I like Trump, he too did nothing to negociate the release or gain information as to the where-abouts of those missng..... The Senate Select Committee hearings in the early 90's ended up burying those who were still alive from the Vietnam War.... Where have all the men gone???
Actually President Trump was able to get Kim Jong to send us a few set of remains from NK. according to John Bolton (if he is to be believed) President Trump received the offer from Putin, to exchange this same killer for our Marine, but he was told not to. Not only because of the danger this killer represents, but because it makes any American, traveling abroad, a kidnap target and that is exactly what Beijingjoe has just done. But instead of bringing a Marine hero home, he brought back this worthless piece of trash.
True, all that's left of the POW issue is remains... No body acted on the live sightings in the early 90's , all they did was worked diligently to bury them......
According to JW archives, a few years ago (2017 or 18 I think), our POWs, in Vietnam, were transfered to Cuba, in 1979,never to be heard from again and Cuba refuses to acknowledge any of the information!
That's correct !! And, they were sent to other communist european nations for experimentation... Nothing was ever done to get these brave military men back to their families..
Of course, at that point in time we had the "peanut guy" for President and he probably was not even aware that happened. However, Reagan became President shortly after and I am rather surprised he didn't do anything about rescue, or recovery, or possibly, the two "pestilents" (Canary and Swift Boat) didn't inform him either.
WHAT? I NEVER heard about this atrocity.
