Instead he ignored them and arrived UNANNOUNCED, traveling in UNMARKED vehicles, so of course he was stopped and asked to identify himself and reasons for being in Israel. Once identity and purpose was established, he and his entourage were allowed to continue. You probably noticed he never explained any of that in his follow-up public statement; he just preferred to make Israel look like the "bad guy". Typical of any arrogant ***!!
