I have seen a few times now a pro-Biden commercial with a testimonial from a vet about the support Biden had for a new iteration of MRAP light armored vehicle. I quick search got very interesting very quickly. Many hits involved a celebratory Biden in October 2012 about the fruition of the program that started in 2007-08 timeframe. The website Wired characterized the program as a "boondoggle" and very expensive, the program itself about $5 billion, not necessarily a significant improvement over previous versions. Since it's introduction the high center of gravity has proven fatal in a number of rollover incidents. To understand the very intricate history of MRAPs I turned to Wikipedia. Wiki points out that there are just TWO companies that produce armor quality steel and that one of them Oregon Steel Mills is owned by Russia. Further research shows that with virtually no headwinds this sale to EVRAZ went thru at the same time the newest MRAP program began, '07-'08. EVRAZ is a multi-national steel and raw materials company headquartered in London with about 64% ownership by three Russian businessmen, Roman Abramovich ~31%, Alexander Abramov ~21.5% and Aleksandr Frolov ~11%. Does anybody know the timeframe that Hunter got his $3.5 million from his Moscow connection? Is there a way to find out how much of the armor steel subcontractor went to Oregon Steel Mills? These are taxpayer dollars going to a Russian company for a US military contract. Wrong and I think the sale of this company was wrong and should be looked at. Does anyone have any better insight? Thanks
