Philly Mayor bans everything but BLM protests

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney : TrumpPA

Philly Mayor Jim Kenney announced Tuesday that the city would not allow large public gatherings through at least February 28, 2021, but specifically said the ban doesn’t apply to demonstration activities like Black Lives Matters protests.

“I’m disappointed to confirm that we are canceling large public events through February 28, 2021, due to the public health crisis,” the Mayor wrote on Facebook.

He continued:

The cancellation does not apply to:

– Demonstrations and First Amendment–protected activities

– Outdoor gatherings that are not publicly advertised (such as picnics and weddings) with 50 or fewer guests

– Organized outdoor recreation and sports with 25 or fewer people

– Events on private property, like venues and stadiums

Although the mayor specifically allowed events in stadiums and venues, he clarified through the city manager that the city would not allow professional sports teams to play in front of fans this year.

In fact, the expiration of the order looks timed to specifically rule out NFL games for 2020 since the Super Bowl is scheduled for February 7, 2021.

Kenney is already under fire for dropping citations of protesters who illegally participated in protests from May 30 until June 30.

“My decision to waive these violations is not a statement on the validity of the individual citations,” Kenney said. “Rather, it is a recognition of the core concerns that caused thousands to demonstrate on the streets of Philadelphia.

Kenney’s core concern is pandering to progressives.

Kenney is a Democrat in the mold of Mike Bloomberg, concentrating on issues like climate change, sugary drink taxes, free heroin injection sites, opioid control and feuding with Donald Trump, as paramount to Philadelphia’s survival.

  • Gentle readers I grew up outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania until I enlisted in the United States Army at age seventeen a decision I have never regretted so I have always had a veritable front row seat to all the corruption and nonsense for years and even though I moved to the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2002 my friends keep me up to date with all the latest political gossip and in the immortal words of Francis Lazarro Rizzo, Sr. (Born: October 23, 1920, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Died: July 16, 1991)  “You God damna cops a worse gossips than old women at the Italian market place to which I replied “You ought to know Chief  you held every  job from policeman to commissioner except police woman because you flunked the physical and he told me to go to Naples. If do not know what that means ask an Italian friend once they stop laughing, they will explain it to you. Then former State Senator Vincent Joseph Fumo another Philadelphia politician who got caught with his fingers in the proverbial cookie jar and spent fifty-five months as a guest of the Federal Bureau of Prisions. Then we have good old Henry “Buddy” Cianfrani another Philadelphia politician who got caught with his fingers in the proverbial cookie jar and spent twenty-eight months as a guest of the Federal Bureau of Prisions. The funniest part of the story is that I met Henry “Buddy” Cianfrani’s daughter at a party she was a very charming young lady and I in all honesty had to tell her that I doubted she would want to speak with me since I was the federal law enforcement officer who arrested her father. She asked me to excuse her a minute since had to call her mother the conversation was “Hi mom, I just met the fed who locked up dad.” She then turned to me and said “My mother wants to know when you will free to take lunch with us she is dying to hear every wonderful detail.” The moral of the story is never to cross an Italian lady. The last time I was at the Fraternal Order of Police in Philadelphia I saw one of my friends who I will only identify as Richie and I quipped “Hey Richie you ought to run for the State Senate you the perfect campaign slogan “Hi I am Richice C. and I am the only Philadelphia politician to have gone from Philadelphia to Harrisburg and back without being a guest of the Federal Bureau of Prisions.” He replied “Ray, that is really mean.” His wife who is the real brains of the family snapped “Shutup Richie Ray is right.”

  • i hope that businesses in philadelphia that depend on tourists revenue aren't expecting much this year

    • Probably not I am not going back and I can carry my old service pistol there!!!

  • Another azzclown loser of a mayor. Philadelphia, have you had enough of the left's marxism yet? Are you going to be able to vote at your localm precinct's election polls? This mayor is committing election tampering and should be arrested.

  • Where open carry and conceal carry are permitted it would be advisable to provide for one's own defense... since many law enforcement agents and agencies have indicated they will not respond to BLM and ANTIFA terrorism...  If one carries be sure to act lawfully and purchase good pre-paid legal insurance as you may well end up arrested even if you are 100% legal in carrying or using your firearm.

  • This mayor can be arrested by the FBI for abusing the powers of his office.... by depriving the civil rights of the citizens in his city under the color of law.   See:

Title 18, U.S.C., Section 242 - Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law

This statute makes it a crime for any person acting under color of law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom to willfully deprive or cause to be deprived from any person those rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution and laws of the U.S.

This law further prohibits a person acting under color of law, statute, ordinance, regulation or custom to willfully subject or cause to be subjected any person to different punishments, pains, or penalties, than those prescribed for punishment of citizens on account of such person being an alien or by reason of his/her color or race.

Acts under "color of any law" include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the bounds or limits of their lawful authority but also acts done without and beyond the bounds of their lawful authority; provided that, in order for unlawful acts of any official to be done under "color of any law," the unlawful acts must be done while such official is purporting or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. This definition includes, in addition to law enforcement officials, individuals such as Mayors, Councilpersons, Judges, Nursing Home Proprietors, Security Guards, etc., persons who are bound by laws, statutes ordinances, or customs.

Punishment varies from a fine or imprisonment of up to one year, or both, and if bodily injury results or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire shall be fined or imprisoned up to ten years or both, and if death results, or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or maybe sentenced to death.

This law can be used to arrest, detain, and prosecute local authorities for acting under the color of law to deprive their citizens of their civil rights as guaranteed under the US Constitution and various statutory provisions. The President may arrest, indict, and try any Governor, Mayor, City Council, or other public officials who act in an official capacity to deny any citizen their civil rights.  The President has no excuse for allowing local authorities to deny anyone their civil rights or to permit one class of individuals to assemble while denying others the same right.

The President owes the public an explanation if he refuses to act on this federal law... especially, where the pandemic is being used to deny civil rights without a declaration of martial law the equal application of any lawful pandemic restrictions...  Pandemic restrictions that are not the official order of appropriate medical officials are unlawful.

    • Oh my yes and gentle readers I happen know two members of the Prince William County Police Department who are in for such a rude awkening. The only thing that Robert Hunter Biden also known as Little Bobbie Biden to us nasty old cops regrets is getting caught he was commissioned into the United States Naval Reserve accepted as part of a program that allows a limited number of applicants with desirable skills to receive commissions and serve in staff positions. These people are known as limited duty officers. He received an age-related waiver and a waiver due to a past drug-related incident, and was sworn in as a direct commission officer which usually means you have some special skill the United States Navy need in the case of my Australian born but naturalized United States citizen neaphew he is an aviation maintance officer.

Gentle readers I suggest you look up  Senator Frank Forrester Church (Born July 25, 1924 Died April 7, 1984) and the Church Committee he ran. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1956, Frank Church spent twenty-four years in Congress as an advocate for progressive causes, including civil rights, equal rights for women, wilderness preservation, and opposition to the Vietnam War. In the mid-1970s he gained notoriety for overseeing a Senate investigation that exposed some of the CIA and FBI's more controversial activities. Church's inquiry paved the way for passage of the Intelligence Oversight Act of 1980, which requires the agencies to report covert activities to an oversight committee in an effort to curb abuses of power. It quite frankly did not work too well because the nonsense is still going on today. Frank Forrester Church was one of the most honorable men I ever observed in my life. By the way he was a Democrat and had served in World War Two as an intelligence officer they were so afraid of him that the National Security Agency was conducting “electronic surveillance” of his personal communications I never accused them of spying on him!!!!
