The biggest and worst revelations I have had from working as a psychiatrist in a hospital where the population is largely homeless people, illegal immigrants, and people on welfare are: 🧵
1. 95%+ of homeless people are violent drug addicts that do not want help. They want to continue abusing drugs and will use all their welfare money to buy drugs. When they run out of money, they seek shelter in hospitals in an effort to make it to the next welfare check date, then demand discharge to go use drugs.
2. Illegal immigrants abuse the healthcare system and do not pay for their healthcare while Americans struggle to afford it. A lot of Illegals are also not vaccinated against a lot of diseases and are bringing disease across our boarder.
3. Illegal immigrants come to America illegally then immediately make a medical complaint in order to receive free healthcare, making Americans wait longer.
4. People want to be diagnosed with medical and/or mental health issues in order to claim benefits. They can often make up symptoms to fit a diagnoses in order to fill out forms to get benefits.
5. A significant number of people on welfare for mental health issues are not mentally ill, they are either lying or drug addicts or are misdiagnosed.
