Most white American families never owned slaves, and slavery was not limited to White America only... freed slaves, Indians, and others owned slaves. So, from the start, the basis for assigning reparations is flawed, historically biased, and inaccurate. Most white Americans today descend from post-Civil War immigrants. Large numbers of Blacks in America arrived as immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers after Slavery was outlawed
However, a reparations bill providing relief for past abuses from slavery is making its way through Congress at this very moment... The Democrats are calling the bill HR 40, “Examining the Path to Reparative Justice in America.” The bill not only ignores previous historic reparations paid to former slaves immediately after the civil war. They conveniently forget the many bills and programs offered as forms of reparations to former slaves beginning before and after the Civil War.
Famous among those reparation programs was... the '40 Acres and a Mule program' offered by Gen. Sherman (see link below) or the congressional preference being given to slaves for purchasing abandoned and tax forfeiture lands in the defeated Confederacy, ... There was also the 1867 Southern Homestead Act created out of 46 million acres of southern lands, which were offered to anyone who had never BORN ARMS AGAINST THE UNION... this excluded nearly all white southerners, giving former Slaves access to large segments of land for no more than a filing fee. Billions in property and treasure were paid or assigned to former slaves in the form of reparations. Every freed slave was eligible for a small stipend and passage to repatriate to Africa and the nation of LIBERIA which was purchased by Americans specifically for repatriated former slaves... Thousands took the offer and the nation of Liberia stands today as evidence of our forefather's attempt at social justice and reparations.
The truth is this current bill has nothing to do with slavery and nothing to do with justice... If it did, Democrats probably wouldn’t have put slave owner descendant Kamala Harris a heartbeat away from the presidency. This Bill is just one more Democrat act to divide and destroy America... one more race-baiting boondoggle that seeks to exploit a raw never in our country’s history, by sowing even more division and hatred.
I’ve posted previous warnings about the dangers of reparations... the controversy over reparations has been ragging for years. The latest versions are the result of Marxist tactics to spread dissension and hate among America's racial groups. Reparations have been paid several times, in many forms, in our history, and they ultimately have done more harm than good. However, the Marxists have become infinitely more powerful as a political force in America, and are now pushing an irresponsible and dangerous narrative... offering reparations once more while pretending to be champions of the black community.
HR 40 'Examing The Path To Reparative Justice in America' if allowed to pass will likely deliver the blow that begins open civil war... and the return of racial hatred ... as the non-black community finally has had enough of the race-baiting and social INJUSTICE of the Black Community and its harping on long-settled claims of racial injustice. HR 40 is a blatant attempt to achieve political power and economic reward at the expense of the oppressed and suffering non-black middle class. It is time to kill this bill, before it spreads its venom among the population, creating chaos and racial violence.
Call, write and otherwise communicate your opposition to any such bill ... reminding your members of Congress of the long history of reparations made in the past. Relay to them how you expect such a bill would create economic and social harm well beyond any perceived benefit. Remind them No slaves are alive today. and many Blacks in America have no direct link to slavery in America. America's Black citizen who suffered under the social injustices of the early and mid 20th century has been compensated thru many current equal opportunity and affirmative action programs. Institutional Racism no longer exists in America. America is not a racist state, nor has it been for several decades.
