he temporary protective status for Haitians in the United States was meant for the victims of the earthquake in 2010, the majority of the Haitians being protected from deportation under this order arrived under the Biden Admin, NOT the earthquake
The House voted to extend temporary protective status to the Haitian population in the United States
Again, what’s crazy is this temporary protective status is from all the back in 2010 because of the earthquake
“Over time, it's been continually extended or re-upped or redesignated multiple times, to the point now where it's become essentially a de facto amnesty program, and the vast majority of the Haitians who are protected by Temporary Protective Status did not come into the United States after that earthquake. 69% of them came into the United States during the Biden administration”
“In other words, they were just part of the massive deluge of illegal immigration. That status should be revoked, it should expire, but unfortunately the House voted last week to extend it.”
Original temporary protective status from the 2010 earthquake era started with roughly 50,000 beneficiaries
The current Haitian temporary protective status holders is approximately 350,000
This is NOT what the original program was meant for
