An insider tipped me off to something that is going on at the Army War College ("AWC").
(The AWC is the master's-producing senior service college for Army (and some joint) promotable lieutenant colonels and junior colonels. It's one year long and is designed to get senior officers ready for brigade command and beyond. It's located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.)
Apparently AWC has aggressively eliminated all written DEI policies (which is good).
However, the AWC leadership also directed a number of students to change their DEI-inspired master's theses. This change was reportedly required to ensure that those officers did not suffer future career damage for expressing DEI themes.
I'm not sure how I feel about this.
On the one hand, I'm glad the AWC leadership is purging the poison of DEI at all levels.
On the other hand, I don't want DEI advocates hiding their sympathy for what is an incredibly destructive, racist, sexist, bigoted philosophy.
These officers changing their theses are on-track to one day be very senior Army generals. If they are advocates for the hate called DEI, America should know that before they climb to the top of the pyramid.

There should be ways to evaluate their decision making model at regular intervals, just as in any college classroom. Periodic written, oral and practical evaluations can weed out garbage thinking, garbage evaluation on their part and garbage conclusions.
