Mitchell, the Democrats, by any descriptive title have actually divided themselves into "Two Separate Ideals" of Government and it is a self destructive relationship. The actual difference between Communism and Socialism is on par with "Pit Bull and American Bully." For the majority there is no difference and the attempt to establish such, confusion results. Why bother?

Words! I don't know if it's like this in other places, but in America words are being twisted to suit the goal, to lead people to think a certain way about things, to stir emotions in odd ways.
Americans in general don't differentiate between socialism and communism, to them it's all the same, free healthcare, free education, a month vacation, the government takes care of everything! They have no clue how expensive everyday life is, the taxes they pay, they only see the "free" and that works for them not understanding the price of free. I recall how shocked I was when I arrived in the USA and saw signs of "free". At the gas station after a fill up you got a free glass, you could collect a set if you kept going back to the same place. To me it was embarrassing, I could not take the free glass, it didn't feel right! Already fifty years ago they were training Americans to want something for nothing, and today people flat out ask what you have for free, they'll take it only if they don't have to pay for it. What a clever lure, a conditioning.
BTW, no communist ever calls himself a communist, being called a communist is the greatest insult, it is demeaning, it angers the person to the point of ready for a physical fight. Former Soviet controlled countries were never called communist countries, Hungary was the Hungarian Socialist Republic, the same with the Czechs, the Poles, etc, communists always hide behind the socialist banner, it doesn't sound as drastic, it doesn't admit to the rot!
So words! First do not call the democrat party the DemocraTIC Party, because they aren't democratic at all, it is misleading to make people think they are the party representing democracy, overlooking the fact we are a republic. Both parties have changed, democrats have shifted to the left so far that many among them are actual communists, selling themselves as socialists, just like the Soviet communists, do not expect them to call themselves communists, it will never happen. For us to call communist China "communist" is a shock, but again it is because the people do not differentiate between socialist and communist.......that is a scary reality in itself. Republicans have also shifted to the left, many think more like the European socialist then the original Republican, so should we change Republican to Constitutionalist and see where each member belongs?
It appears you are offended by the way the word progressive is used, but progress can go in many directions, including progressing into communism, to a communist that is progressive.
