I am writing to demand a clear, detailed, and public explanation of what you personally are doing to address the ongoing fraud scandals emerging out of Minnesota that have reportedly involved billions of taxpayer dollars being stolen or misused. Recent developments have shown expansive investigations into alleged fraud schemes tied to Minnesota’s social services, human services, Medicaid reimbursements, childcare funding, and related programs, with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and federal agencies actively prosecuting and alleging vast losses to federal and state taxpayers. 

These events affect every taxpayer in this country, and as my elected representative, the citizens you serve expect transparency, accountability, and action. Specifically, I request that you address the following questions directly, in writing:

What specific investigations or oversight efforts are you leading, supporting, or demanding from federal or state authorities to fully uncover the scope of fraud in Minnesota and similar fraud anywhere our federal tax dollars are being exploited?

What actions have you taken to ensure that engaged prosecutors, investigators, and auditors have the resources they need—including forensic accountants, federal task forces, and interagency cooperation—to pursue these cases to completion?

What measures are you advocating for to strengthen federal and state safeguards against fraud in social services, welfare programs, childcare subsidies, Medicaid, and related areas to prevent future taxpayer losses?

Have you urged or sponsored any legislation that would mandate regular, independent audits of federally funded programs, enforce stricter penalties for fraud, and require restitution and civil recovery of stolen funds?

What is your position on ensuring that all individuals or entities found culpable are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, that there are trials and convictions where appropriate, and that severe punishments and restitution are imposed where guilt is proven?

Will you commit to regular updates to your constituents on the progress of these inquiries and related policy work until all fraud claims are thoroughly reviewed and accountability is achieved?

We cannot tolerate billions of dollars being diverted away from their intended use, especially when those dollars support vulnerable Americans and essential services. Taxpayers deserve clarity, decisive oversight, and accountability — not confusion or delays.

I expect your written response within a week or two outlining what concrete steps you are taking and how you intend to ensure federal funds are protected and fraudsters are held accountable.
