I would dearly love to interview the 3 blackrobed dissenters and ask the, directly, "If this case came before you, but was about immunity for your Kenyan fraud, would you have voted in the affirmstive?"
If they responded "yes", then I would have to ask if they would consider his gift of pallets of cash, to Iran, to be an official act, OR a violation of ANY official presidential action, since it was done SECRETLY??
I can only imagine!!
The SCOTUS gets one halfway correct... They manage to affirm 250-plus years of historic Presidential Constitutional immunity for official acts... these asses should be removed.... This case should not have been necessary... the separation of powers precept keeps one Branch from impugning or criminalizing the acts of any other branch. The proper remedy for lawless conduct by an officer of the Constitution is IMPEACHMENT... not the fiat edict of 9 Justices... Who's next?
WE CAN NOW EXPECT DISPUTES OVER WHAT IS OFFICIAL AND UNOFFICIAL ACTS... smart move SCOTUS... take what was once clear immunity and muddy it up. Real smart. How many cases of official versus unofficial acts will it take SCOTUS INTERVENTION to resolve? 250 years of clarity for this kind of decision? I guess it is to be expected with Justices who can't provide a definition of a woman or when life begins.
Let an IMPEACHMENT trial decide what is criminal or an official or implied act of a president or other officials of government... not the courts. If one is convicted upon impeachment the trial in the US Senate and its findings and vote will define if immunity from the contested conduct is proper.
Let Congress and the IMPEACHMENT PROCESS, not the courts, decide what conduct has immunity. The courts have way to much power now... giving them more is ludicrous.
The Supreme Court ruled correctly! Sorry demoncrats
