Recall charges have been filed against Seattle Socialist Mayor Katie Wilson
King County Elections received the charges on Aug. 11
The charges accuse Wilson of failing to adequately address public safety concerns & criticize her handling of police leadership and the city's surveillance camera system
The charges are now undergoing a review by the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. If the filing meets requirements, prosecutors will prepare a ballot synopsis and submit the matter to King County Superior Court.
A judge would then determine whether the charges meet the legal standard for misfeasance, malfeasance, or a violation of the oath of office.
Only if the charges clear those steps would proponents be allowed to start collecting signatures.

According to Seattle Councilmember Juarez, the night of the Bite of Seattle shooting, "there was a 27-min call between 'dignitaries'" which included CM Kettle, Council President Hollingsworth, Gov Ferguson, Rep Jayapal & Katie Wilson, but "people didn't know where the mayor was. She didn't turn her camera on. We don't even know why"
