Asked if Democrats can stop Senate Republicans from confirming President Trump's next Supreme Court nominee, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), a member of the Judiciary Committee, indicated that the Democrats' only hope is to mobilize public opinion against the move.
"You know, I don't think we have a triple-secret procedural trick device in our back pockets that we didn't use during the Gorsuch proceedings and didn't use during the Kavanaugh proceedings.
“So, I think it's really a question of, like, shedding light and making sure everybody gets a chance to understand what the consequences of this are," Whitehouse told Fox News's Bill Hemmer on Tuesday.
