This summer, my dad visited us every week in the Pacific Northwest to play with the grandkids, and every week I could predict what his complaints would be: The record-breaking heat in the area was aggravating him, as was the chronic pain in his back — a deep ache still lingering from a major car accident two years ago. The common cause in these events was not lost on me.
The threat car emissions pose to the environment gets some attention. But what we Americans are still in total collective denial about is how lethal our car dependency already is. Every year, nearly 40,000 people die in crashes, and at least another 3.3 million are seriously injured. Cars put us in clear, imminent danger every day, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized: Motor vehicle traffic is a leading cause of death for children, well ahead of firearms or drownings. Among adults, Black and brown people are more likely to die or be injured by cars than white people are.

The variable not included in consideration of Revolution/Civil War is the Sworn Oath to Uphold the Constitution Against All Enemies Foreign and Domestic. That decision is left to the Individual, as are the consequences. Soldiers and Civilians alike are in a Personal Crisis over Our Nation's Current Situation. Their discussions are no different than those around the privacy of friends kitchen tables. Pilots of those Planes and Drivers of those Tanks have already resigned over Mandatory Vaccination. Imagine the sabotaging in a Declared War, from those choosing the same Mind Set as Yours.

Imagine the smell and streets of New York City in 1890 when the population was just under 2 Million. Picture it today at close to Five Times the Population using Horses instead of Cars/Buses/Cabs/etc. And with "Flies" comes "Tuberculosis!" That much Horse Manure equals fogs and clouds of Flies!

Strange thing... Communists don't ask for permission to take your property or to impose draconian government mandates on the public. Wake up, communists are strong-arm experts, if they can't frighten the public into compliance they simply pick out a few of the more virulent dissenters and murder them... after a few hundred thousand or so the remaining public usually complies simply to keep breathing.
The left is likely to tax us out of our cars... with fuel taxes, direct taxes on mileage driven, and tolls for bridges and express lanes, etc. What the government charges and the insurance companies want, it will eventually become economically prohibitive for the average American to own and operate a personal vehicle.
Buy a horse and buggy while they can be found... LOL or maybe not?

This viewpoint of a military professional has always perplexed me. I begin to wonder just exactly what the thoughts were, behind an affirmed individual right to self-defense, expressly described in keeping and bearing arms. Are we to believe that military progress in more efficiently killing each other, could not have been anticipated in the self-defense reasoning? (after all, the rebels resorted to guerilla techniques as legitimate tactics, including long rifle assassination of command grade officers on the battlefield, to the revilement of the British).
Perhaps it is really an empty gesture used to placate the Anti-Federalists, just as the scant chattle slavery Constitutional referances were used to appease the agrarian slavers? Anything to get the new Constitution ratified?
Or maybe they figured from painful experience that there is just no way to peacefully, civilly accomodate the despot. That kind of rankling reality is why they left the organized benefit of Europe for hardships of living in a wilderness, and refused to accept importation of tyranny in the New World to benefit the central european government. In that case, every and anyone with the resolve to refuse the collar and chain ought to at least be afforded to option to decide. And heaven help those that will, or won't! To not resist the organized oppresor, is to accept the shackles and its living death.
You removed from your post here, the language inspiring me to reply this way. But you have said as much in previous posts. There's that "Tree of Liberty being irrigated" metaphor popping up, seemingly a bloodthirsty yearning, but apparently a somber prediction of our inevitable liability in our continual struggle to be free.
I admit we are not, as an irregular group, equally competent to a modern military. Then the alternative?
I wonder how the Vietcong would react to this line of ideas?
I remember reading about NYC in the 1890's with horseshit and piss all over the place and the smell and dust from the crap on a hot summer day... The city and the air is much cleaner today than it was then.

During the Month of September 2019 the Homicide Rate for Our Nation was approximately 1,100 per Day out of 223+ Million. For the Month of September 2021 the Homicide Rate rose to 11,600 per Day out of 223+ Million. This is prior to the Mandatory Covid Vaccination and the leaving of Thousands of Police Officers who refused the "Blackmail Vaccine!" Expect the same Covid Migration from the Courts, Jails, Prisons and Paroles. Multiply the Daily Homicide Rate Times 1,000+ for the "Daily Shootings" and One quickly sees the family of focusing on Motor Vehicles being the Leading Cause of Death for Children!
