We have finally been handed a singular golden once in a lifetime opportunity by this ruling.
I have viewed this and believe it is slightly oriented to the left, but what is says is valid. This ruling will create chaos for a good while. This ruling will fragment many of the ways we do things. It also returns us to the original ideology of our Founders where the States control the Federal Government. It also opens the way for the American citizens to grab back the powers that have been taken from them over the last 250 years.
I foresee the splits between the blue and red states creating laws that will not mesh like most do now. If the American people want to correct the problems our politicians have dropped on us, we now have only one way to unite the nation under the combined desires and compromises the people and not the politicians want. We can now utilize the Article-V to create the nation that serves the most people through proper compromise. We do it by clearly worded amendments that can not be incorrectly interpreted by conniving political factions and sly politicians.
We can create simple Amendments like;
"Congress members are limited to no more than 12 years in office, then must return to civilian life."
"Congress must produce a 5 year long workable balanced budget every 5 years or forfeit their pay for that term and be replaced by a special election."
"Congress members must use the same Social Security plan as the rest of Americans use."
"Congress is forbidden from exempting themselves from the laws they make for other Americans."
"A standard immigration policy shall be created that allows for people from every Country to apply for citizenship With a maximum number of 20,000 from any one country being allowed in. Borders will be secured and ALL illegal entrants will be returned to their country of origin. People seeking sanctuary will be allowed in on a temporary basis, and areas of government land will be designated for, them to live on and farm as a community."
"The concept of birthright citizenship shall be modified to prevent a child being born on US soil of 2 non-citizen parents, unless one or both of the parents are actively in a citizenship program, or having one parent already a citizen, shall not be given birthright citizenship."
Considering the ongoing problems between the anti and pro gun groups, we could instead create an Amendment that clearly states; "In order to end the confusion and speculation by political groups as to the meaning of the Second Amendment, we hereby clarify it to mean GOVERNMENT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO CREATE ANY NEW LAW, RULE OR REGULATION, AND IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN FROM ENFORCING ANY EXISTING LAW, RULE, OR REGULATION UNLESS BY A 3/4 AFFIRMATIVE VOTE OF REGISTERED VOTERS, AGREE TO RETAIN OR ALLOW THEM.. EXISTING LAWS, RULES AND REGULATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE ENFORCED UNTIL VOTED ON OR ONE YEAR AFTER THIS AMENDMENT IS RATIFIED WHICHEVER COMES FIRST."
These are just a few of the ideas for amendments Americans could propose with an Article-V States petitioned for Amendment proposal convention. We could also repeal, and remove amendments which have eroded our power over Congress like the 17th Amendment that removed control of the Senators from the states, which they were specifically meant to represent and return them to that control, so they once again would have to represent their states instead of their political parties.
As I said before, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to decide on an equitable compromise among ourselves on how we want to live, and to force our politicians to do what we want them to do, not what they want to do for themselves.
