Almost half of recent college graduates are not 'emotionally' prepared to survive in the workplace, while a majority of those in their 20s feel 'burnt out' at least once a week.

These were the bombshell findings from a new survey of America's young professionals, which concluded that the next generation of workers aren't equipped to handle a regular 9-5.

The survey, conducted by the Mary Christie Institute, unearthed numerous shocking statistics, including that 51 percent of young workers needed help for mental health issues within the past year.

Young professionals also offered a damning verdict on the role of colleges in preparing them for their careers, slating their university experience for failing to prime them to enter office life

The think tank said their data demonstrates that 'once in the workplace, young people continue to struggle mentally and emotionally'.

The survey, which sampled 1005 people aged between 22 to 28 who achieved at least a bachelor's degree, was intended to gauge how young adults are coping in the modern workplace.

But the results weren't promising, with young professionals who are supposed to be in their prime instead reporting more anxiety, higher levels of burnout and increased financial stress.

Of the 51 percent of respondents who said they needed help for their mental health struggles in the last year, 43 percent suffered from anxiety and 31 percent from depression.

  • They are not even ready to fight for their freedom I guess they were never were teach how they became free

  • Neither can a lot of High school students do math or science, thanks to our liberal  education system over the last 50 years.

    • Today,  a high school education is equivalent to a grammar school certificate and a college education is more on the level of a high school education.  received by my generation... the 50's.

Dumbing down is a reality that employers are facing... as they scramble to find qualified employees.  Many employers spend millions on training, what once were ready to work, qualified, new heirs.  There is a great dearth between employment opportunities and qualified employees.... This phenomenon often appears as an anomaly between the number of JOBS available, and the unemployed ... part of the structural unemployment problem... is found in the lack of qualified employees for certain skill sets.

  • The only thing these "young adults"  are  prepared for is to lose the protection of the US Constitution And Their Bill Of Right . Example ,Those that are still locked up in the Washington Jail , without their legal rights being honored. Also, for all you MSNBC watchers ,I watch Joes btilliant wife state on Morning Joe that is their job to "TELL VIEWERS WHAT TO THINK."  The liberal media is doing exactly what OBAMA wanted to do since before he was elected to start the process of"Fundimentaly Changing America " The changing of America is well underway  via the Felon we now have in the Whitehouse and theSchools of America .

    • Mornng Joe can't even think for himself not along with being in charge.

    • And that's exactly what's happening!  Good post!

  • Bunch of spoiled brats complaining. Suck it up and toughen up!

    • No doubt........Bunch of pussies!

  • A lot of criticisms about the generation or the college education. Why not take a look at the type of jobs offered, the structure of the organization or other factors related to the job? Maybe it's the companies that have to switch gears through a thorough look at how they do business and bring these grads into the fold? Surely the grads can't all be wrong.
