As you know, while election integrity gains have been made over the last four years, there is still work to be done. One glaring loophole that still exists is the one that allows noncitizens to register to vote. Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) has reintroduced the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE Act, H.R. 22) to the House, and it’s heading to a vote this week, likely on Thursday.
The SAVE Act demands proof of citizenship for voter registration—a basic safeguard missing from current law. That’s right. Right now, nobody actually has to show documentary proof of citizenship when registering to vote. H.R. 22 closes gaps in the National Voter Registration Act and the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act that allow noncitizens to register and request overseas ballots.

ACTION: Use our action page to call and email your congressman today and tell him or her to vote “yes” on the SAVE Act. You can remind your representative that polling shows Americans overwhelmingly oppose noncitizens voting in our elections. Our polling in 2024 showed that eighty-six percent of Americans oppose it! It is a fringe, radical, extremist position to oppose the SAVE Act.
The left’s riding high off of recent wins, and they’re dead-set against this bill. They’re pressuring liberal lawmakers to unite in opposition to kill the bill, and they want to scare conservative lawmakers into voting against it. We can’t let the left win.
Republicans may hold a slim House majority and a stronger Senate edge, but that’s no guarantee. Complacency loses battles. We the people have to speak up, loud and clear, and push this bill through before 2026 to close this disastrous loophole once and for all.
Remember: whether you are represented by a Republican or Democrat, please call and email. Do not allow the left to set the narrative that this is an unpopular bill. Americans elected Donald Trump and a Republican Congress to stop this kind of deterioration of our country.
