So many questions….

So many questions….
He says COVID delayed his B-1/B-2 visa, so he couldn’t come to America for an in-person rotation.
Would that rotation even have qualified for B-1?
Was he still a foreign medical student, or already a graduate?
What exactly was he supposed to be doing with patients?
Because instead, from overseas, he says he:
- accessed a U.S. clinic’s EMR
- talked to American patients
- took their medical histories
- documented encounters
- completed their chartsHe says he basically did everything except the physical exam.
So who authorized the overseas EMR access?
Were patients told?
What could he download, screenshot or copy?
Were personal devices allowed?
Were access logs audited?
What happened to any notes containing PHI?
How many foreign trainees were doing this?
And then he says the tele-rotations got him “really good LORs” and were “a really big help in matching to my program.”
So one final question:
How much “U.S. clinical experience” was actually happening outside the United States?
