Violence serves a purpose and a morality.
A society that delegitimizes coercion and violence by its cooperative and socially load-bearing members winds up privileging coercion by its most maladapted members.
And that is not a place you want to live.
There is no perfect. Humans are humans, and human nature does not change much. People respond to incentives in predictable ways, and this makes many kinds of emergent structure and outcome inevitable. This encodes trade-offs that cannot be avoided.
Any system that starts with “and first we make people better and finer and get them to stop acting like people” ends in disaster.
So let us see if we cannot get real for a moment.

I have no idea if the kid is a left-wing hugger of plant life or how that conclusion was arrived at.
I do not care.
I would not care if he were an immigrant, a local, mentally unwell, deeply stupid, black, white, yellow, brown, a communist, a constitutionalist, or the president of the Rand Paul fan club.
None of that matters. None of those characteristics protect you.
